Prosiding seminar nasional pendidikan lokakarya PISA:melalui PISA kita tingkatkan kualitas guru dan siswa
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical connection ability of students who obtained LC
5E learning and students who obtained conventional learning, and to see whether there was an effect of LC
5E on students' mathematical connection skills. This study uses an experimental method that applies two
learning models, namely LC 5E and conventional learning. The population in this study were eighth grade
students of Palembang State Middle School 42. Sampling using random sampling. From 7 classes taken 2
sample classes totaling 70 students, of which 35 students for the experimental class and 35 students for the
control class. The instrument used is a test of mathematical connection ability. Learning outcomes data were
tested using the Mann Whitney U non-parametric test. Then, the Sig. 2-tailed for students' mathematical
connection ability is 0,000 less than = 0.05. So it was concluded that there was an influence of LC 5E on
mathematical connection ability of eighth grade students of Palembang State Middle School 42. The
influence shown is a positive influence because the average experimental class learning outcomes (77.00) is
greater than the average learning outcomes of the control class (55.57). In other words the mathematical
connection ability of students who get LC 5E learning is better than those who get conventional learning.
Keywords: LC 5E, Conventional, Mathematical Connection Ability
